Fire Exits
- Every building should have at least two means of escape in the event of a fire.
- Fire doors should not be locked or blocked when employees are inside.

- Your building must have the appropriate fire extinguisher for existing fire hazards.
- Employees should be trained on the usage of fire extinguishers.

An Emergency Evacuation Plan
- Employers should have a written emergency action plan describing routes and procedures employees should follow in the event of a fire.
- Procedures for assisting any employees with physical impairments should also be included.
- Once the written plan is complete all employees must be trained in what to do.
A Fire Prevention Plan
- In addition to the evacuation plan, a written prevention plan should be recorded.
- Clean-up procedures for flammable materials and waste should be included in this plan.
- Any equipment that produces heat should be properly stored and maintained and kept away from flammable materials.
